Stanmer Park Kindergarten Deputy Manager
The Deputy Manager will assist the Kindergarten Manager in the creation and implementation of Bee in the Woods' newest setting, based in a beautiful corner of Stanmer Park. Providing high quality Forest School childcare and education to children aged 3-5 years. They will support the Kindergarten Manager in ensuring that Bee in the Woods Stanmer provides a safe, stimulating, and caring environment that meets the individual needs of each child. The Deputy Manager will have a key role in promoting and maintaining the highest standards of care and education for all children attending the outdoor Kindergarten.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Kindergarten Manager in the day-to-day management of our newest setting in Stanmer Park
- Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 3-5 years
- Work with colleagues to uphold the setting ethos and approach to children with additional needs
- Support the Kindergarten Manager in ensuring the Kindergarten meets all statutory requirements, including those of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Implement and maintain effective systems for tracking children's progress and development
- Work with the Manager to regularly review the SEND and inclusion policy and practice within the setting and agree how it will be implemented.
- Support Manager to ensure the setting provides inclusive EY provision
- Ensure early identification and intervention is implemented across the Kindergarten through parent communication and support plans
- Support and supervise the Kindergarten staff team, including providing guidance in following ISP’s (Individual Support Plans) and training where necessary
- Act as a key person for a group of children, ensuring that their individual needs are met and that their progress is monitored and recorded
- Plan and deliver high-quality Early Years Education sessions, ensuring that all children have access to a range of learning experiences in an outdoor setting
- Assist the Manager in managing resources effectively
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed by staff and parents
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and parent meetings as required
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, and external professionals
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Level 5 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent)
- Forest School Leader qualification (or a willingness to undertake training)
- Experience of leading in an Early Years setting
- Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
Desirable:
- Experience of supervising and supporting staff
- Experience of working with and supporting children with additional needs
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to get one)
Salary: £24k-£32k pro rata. Depending on qualifications and experience.
Hours: Part-time, (30 hours per week/4 days a week) or Full-time (38 hours a week) available.
