Communication & Language in the Outdoors
The outdoors can be a rich and inspirational place for children to develop communication and language skills.
An environment that changes daily with the weather and the seasons, an endless supply of open-ended resources and lots of space for movement - children can find their voices through outdoor play! At Bee in the Woods, we have been studying how children communicate and how language skills can be supported through our interactions with each other and the environment. This session will be active, playful and full of ideas to take back to your own setting.

All weather outdoors for Early Years
The team behind Bee in the Woods have been excited to see the interest in outdoor play rise since the start of the pandemic, with many early years settings moving their provision outside and seeing the rich potential of outdoor play for learning.
We share with Early Years Educators exactly what we ‘do when it rains’ and share tips and advice to make the most of every outdoor space and every weather. This one-day training event will be packed with theory and practical ideas, to inspire and motivate your team to take the learning outdoors and it will provide practitioners with a toolbox of resources to use in their settings. Participants will be invited to get muddy and messy as they try a range of fun, creative activities and by the end of the day they will have a takeaway plan and toolkit for their own setting.
